Current Tariff

From the 2nd of June 2025, changes will be made to the charging tariffs that apply to Dundee City Council-owned infrastructure operated by ChargePlace Scotland to ensure the network remains accessible and financially sustainable. To balance availability between fast, rapid and ultra-rapid chargers, and to accommodate the higher cost of providing rapid/ultra-rapid chargers, different rates will be in place.

The tariff rates from 2 June 2025 will be as follows:

  • Fast chargers (up to 22kW) = 57p per kWh
  • Rapid chargers ((≥43kW AC or 50kW DC) = 69p per kWh
  • Ultra-rapid chargers (≥50kW to 150kW) = 69p per kWh

The 38p connection fee will be removed.

The £10 overstay charge will remain the same, which is as follows:

  • Fast chargers (up to 22kW) = £10 overstay fee will apply when charge times surpass 235 minutes on charge points 50910 (Dock Street), 51086 (Nethergate), 52567 (South Tay Street) and 50908 (Trades Lane)
  • Fast chargers (up to 22kW) = £10 overstay fee will apply when charge times surpass 355 minutes on other fast chargers
  • Rapid chargers (≥43kW AC or 50kW DC) = £10 overstay fee when charge times surpass 85 minutes
  • Ultra-rapid Chargers (≥50kW to 150kW) = £10 overstay fee when charge times surpass 85 minutes.

The £10 overstay fee will not apply in the Olympia, Greenmarket and Gellatly Street multi-storey car parks as well as the Michelin Scotland Innovation Parc and CPID 60393 at Derby Street.

Stickers stating details of the tariffs and overstay charges will be clearly visible on the charge-points across the city. The ChargePlace Scotland website and app will also be updated accordingly to keep drivers informed.

The tariff update will not apply to Urban Fox chargers, which will still follow the previous tariff:

  • 50p per kWh
  • 38p connection fee
  • No overstay fee
