Get Involved! Unlocking Accessibility / SBRI Prototype Trial

16 February, 2022 | Dundee Electric

Duku Design and Urban Foresight are currently working on 2 projects to improve the accessibility of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure for the elderly and people with disabilities.

  • The first of these projects, funded by Scottish Enterprise and Transport Scotland, looks to develop tools that will make charging an electric vehicle easier and quicker at existing charge point infrastructure.
  • The second project, funded by Innovate UK, looks to develop an accessible EV charger.

As part of these projects, we are running a trial to test the prototypes on the 16th (all day) and 17th (am only) of March at Marchbanks in Dundee.

Details of the trial days are below:

Date: 16th and 17th March

Location: Marchbanks, 34 Harefield Rd, Dundee, DD2 3JW

Refreshments will be provided, and reasonable travel expenses up to 25 miles from the event location can be paid.

We are keen to have as many people as possible to trial the prototypes. We will ask people to simulate charging an electric car using different prototype tools, and we'll ask you questions about your experience and how the prototypes can be improved. If you drive an electric car, we will ask you questions about your current charging experience, but you will not need to have previous experience to participate in this trial.

If you'd like to be involved in shaping the accessibility of EV charge points, please complete the following survey: https://forms.office.com/r/nrqF5WDQEK.
